Drowning In Plastic
Synopsis
Drowning In Plastic was born from walks along the River Severn between Shrewsbury and Ironbridge, where council signs erected at designated bathing areas advise against swimming due to high pollution levels, highlighting the environmental impact on the river .
The documentary imagery is enhanced with discarded plastic salvaged during walks, and the use of creative techniques represents biological pollution. These unique outcomes are used to encourage the audience, whether visitors, Companies, or Legislators, to look beyond surface appearance and question their relationship with the river, promoting change rather than resistance. To ensure that the failing pollution levels are addressed and that the River Severn is protected for future generations to enjoy.
