First year final exhibition

My First Year exhibition was on the 2nd of May 2025, at Secret Spaces Digbeth, which was a part of Digbeth First Friday.

My Project was about The Museum of Cannock Chase, which is sadly closing down due to budget cuts. I documented the Museum as it is a vital part of history, and I want people to remember this amazing museum.

Artist statement

The Museum of Cannock Chase sited on the repurposed Valley colliery site is a cherished repository of local history and culture, which unfortunately due to Council budget cuts is closing its doors. Which will be significantly missed by the community.

My work explores the industrial and historical significance of the region showcased in the museum with the aim to preserve the social and cultural stories associated with the area ensuring its legacy lives on for future generations to be inspired.

My Photobook

I created a photobook to show the history of The Cannock Chase museum and for people to remember it. I documented the inside and outside of the museum as well as adding quotes to certain images to explain what the image is about and what the history behind it is.

My Synopsis

The Museum of Cannock Chase, Staffordshire located on the site of the former valley colliery Hednesford is set to close due to financial constraints marking the end of an era for so many including myself.

My work aims to document the many diverse stories showcased in the museum, highlighting its rich industrial heritage, military connection, encompassed in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, which the community are immensely proud,

This endeavour seeks to preserve those memories for generations to come.

My photobook was for sale at the Duplicate Publishing Fair, in Digbeth Birmingham, on the 2nd to the 3rd of may 2025. I put 5 books up for sale for 3 pounds each.
